Soggy Wall

It wasn’t until I saw the stain forming on my wall in my Bonita house that I knew I had a plumbing problem. The water stain bloomed and caused the drywall to become soggy. The plumber came out and tore apart the wall and repaired the leaking pipe, but I was left with a soggy mess to clean up. I called  SERVPRO® of Spring Valley/Jamul right away. They came out and assessed the damage. They used moisture detection devices to see how much moisture was present and set up air movers and blowers to remove the excess moisture. They explained that even though the water that caused the leak had been corrected, there was still moisture left in the drywall, floor, and structural framing that could cause the material to break down and could even cause mold to grow.

Once the area was completely dried, they replaced the soggy insulation, put up new drywall, and painted it to match the undamaged wall. The repairs were finished quickly, and when they were through, my wall looked like it did before the leak ever happened!
